Cross-industry bridges
Generate non-obvious connections between industries. Borrow proven frameworks from adjacent fields to create fresh LinkedIn angles nobody else is using.
What are bridges?
A bridge is a connection between a concept from one industry (the source) and how it applies to another (the target). For example, how a restaurant's tasting menu strategy can teach SaaS companies about user onboarding.
Bridges help you stand out because they surface angles that people in your industry would never find on their own — the insight comes from outside their echo chamber.
How it works
Navigate to "Cross-industry bridges" from the sidebar. The workflow has two steps:
- Provide source content — use one of three input modes:
- News — select from curated articles across multiple topics
- Text — paste any content describing a concept or framework
- URL — enter a web page URL (premium plans)
- Select a target topic — choose the industry or domain you want to apply the borrowed framework to
Click "Generate" and Thoth identifies the source topic (using AI classification for text/URL inputs), then generates multiple bridge pairs in parallel.
Understanding the results
Each bridge card contains:
Bridge angle
The non-obvious connection between source and target — one sentence explaining the parallel.
Bridge explanation
Why this connection is valid and non-obvious — the reasoning that makes it credible.
Structured idea
A ready-to-use post concept with angle, tension, anchor, and stakes — the same structure as the ideas generator.
Source context
The original article or content that inspired the bridge, so you can reference it in your post.
From bridge to post
Each bridge card has a "Write post" button that opens the post generator with the structured idea pre-filled as the topic. The bridge context is included so the AI weaves the cross-industry connection into the post naturally.
Saving bridges
Click the bookmark icon on any bridge card to save it. Saved bridges appear in your Inspirations hub under the "Bridges" tab.
Usage quota
Bridge generation counts against the same monthly ideas quota as the ideas generator and sharp takes. See your current usage in the sidebar.
Tips
- The best bridges come from industries that are structurally similar but culturally distant. Finance → healthcare, hospitality → SaaS, sports coaching → management.
- Use the news tab to browse articles from topics outside your domain — this is the fastest way to find unexpected source material.
- Combine bridges with sharp takes for maximum originality: find a contrarian angle, then bridge it to an adjacent industry.
